Mariano Dapor graduated from the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and graduated with honors with 110 in Music, II level thesis, at the Conservatory “G.F. Ghedini” of Cuneo. The final thesis, identified as historical – educational, concerned the subject; “Pablo Casals and Music as an instrument of peace.” He honed his craft at various academies including the prestigious Hochschule in Monaco of Bavaria and the Stauffer Academy in Cremona, he alternates orchestral chamber music, covering positions in international orchestras (Italian Chamber Orchestra, Mantova Chamber Orchestra, The Pavia Soloists, the String Orchestra of Bolzano). He’s the winner of several competitions including the Vittorio Veneto (accompanied by a special scholarship for the best interpretation of JS Bach’s Suites), and now indefinitely holds the position of principal cellist at the Foundation “Symphonic Orchestra of Sanremo” which got through the competition held in 2000. With the Constanze string quartet he attended special courses of M.Skampa at the music school of Fiesole, and, in 1998, classes at the British “Britten – Pers School” under the guidance of H.Maghuire and S.Metz. In 1999 the Quartet was the guest of the Festival “Orlando” (Netherlands) as resident the quartet. In 1999 he was a full member of ‘EUYO (European Youth Orchestra) and the first cellist of the Youth Orchestra Academy of Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, collaborating with conductors such as Wolfgang Savallisch, Riccardo Muti, Jurij Temirkanov, Gianluigi GelmettiIsaac Karabtchevsky, Diego Fasolis. He held several concerts both solo and in duo with piano, in important seasons including that of the Rovereto Philharmonic, friends of Music of Padua and Veneto, the Mahler of Dobbiaco festival, the festival of Cervo, the season of the Théâtre des Variétés in Monte Carlo, Festival of Sounds in the Dolomites. The collaboration in chamber groups with Salvatore Accardo and the experience as a cello soloist with the orchestra director Piero Bellugi are ones to remember. He studied composition at the Conservatory of Cuneo G.F.Ghedini under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Planesio. He has recorded for Carus and Naxos labels.
